Pepes Ayam (Chicken Pepes)



Bahan (Ingredients):
800 gram ayam (dipotong-potong) (800 grams chicken (cut into pieces)
4 tangkai kemangi (4 stalks of basil)
6 tangkai daun bawang (dipotong serong) (6 stalks green onion (cut oblique)
3 buah cabai merah (dipotong serong) (3 red chilies (cut oblique)
4 batang sereh (dipotong serong) (4 stems lemon grass (cut oblique)
2 buah tomat (dipotong menjadi 6) (2 tomatoes (cut into 6)

6 lembar daun salam (6 bay leaves)
100 cc santan (100 cc coconut milk)
½ sendok teh gula pasir (½ teaspoon sugar)
Garam dan daun pisang secukupnya(Salt to taste and a banana leaf)

Bumbu yang Dihaluskan  (Spices that are):
6 butir bawang merah (6 red onions)
4 siung bawang putih (4 cloves garlic)
2 cm jahe (2 cm ginger)
3 cm kunyit (3 cm turmeric)
4 butir kemiri (4 items hazelnut)

Cara Membuat:
Tumis bumbu yang dihaluskan sampai harum, masukan ayam, garam, gula, dan santan, aduk rata lalu masak selama 15 menit. Setelah itu angkat lalu tambahkan kemangi, salam, sereh, daun bawang, cabai merah, dan tomat. Kemudian aduk rata dan bungkus dengan daun pisang menjadi beberapa bungkusan. Kukus selama 45 menit sampai masak, angkat lalu panggang sampai setengah kering.
(How to Make):
(Stir fry the spice paste until fragrant, add chicken, salt, sugar, and coconut milk, stir well and cook for 15 minutes. After that lift and add the basil, bay, lemongrass, green onions, red peppers, and tomatoes. Then stir in banana leaves and wrap into a bundle. Steam for 45 minutes until cooked, remove from heat and broil until half dry).
